The Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) introduced its blue-grey toned General Purpose Uniform (GPU) in the mid-2010s to replace the earlier blue DPCU-style working dress. Designed specifically for Air Force personnel, the pattern incorporates muted blue, grey, and slate tones intended to reflect the Air Force identity while remaining practical for use on airbases, workshops, and general operational environments rather than frontline field concealment. Unlike the Australian Army’s camouflage systems such as DPCU or AMCU, the RAAF GPU prioritised durability, workplace practicality, and service distinction while still retaining a disruptive camouflage-style appearance. Since its rollout, the GPU has become standard working dress across much of the Air Force, particularly for non-combat and base roles.
Genuine uniform fabric made in Australia.
