AMCU (Australian Multicam Camouflage Uniform) was introduced by the Australian Defence Force in 2014 to replace the older DPCU pattern, reflecting a shift toward more versatile, multi-environment camouflage. Based on Crye Precision’s Multicam design but adapted with an Australian-specific colour palette, AMCU was developed to perform across Australia’s diverse terrain, including arid, tropical, woodland, and urban environments. Its adoption aligned Australia with modern coalition camouflage systems while improving concealment, interoperability, and uniformity across ADF operations both domestically and overseas.

- Lightweight and breathable – Polyester mesh allows excellent airflow, making it ideal for ventilation panels and hot-weather applications.
- Durable and tear resistant – Maintains strength and structure despite its open weave, suitable for repeated use.
- Moisture resistant – Polyester fibres do not absorb water easily, helping the fabric dry quickly and resist mildew.
- Flexible and conforming – Easily shapes to curves and seams without adding bulk.
- Colour stable – Holds dye well and resists fading from UV exposure and washing.
- Weight and specification – 230±10GSM.
Each unit is supplied as a single piece measuring 1 m × 1.5 m. Orders of multiple units will be supplied as one continuous length where possible.
